This is going to be a weird week.
Mr. Dub is taking a vacation without me since I took a few this year without him. (We do love each other; were just not crazy about airfare prices.) In his place, my bro and SIL* will be coming to hang out with me and Miss Dub and our baby, Chicago.
Oh, and my dad is having his esophagus removed tomorrow. (That's not a joke; they actually do this.)
You can imagine I'm a bit nervous. I'm not even sure if Pdaddy will sleep tonight. I've already lost my appetite in support of the poor guy, who will be getting his meals through a tube while he recovers for the next few months.
So we'd really appreciate your prayers, even though I know they're pretty full these days.
I also won't be "normal blogging" this week out of respect to my dad and to my guests, though I will post an update when I get a chance.
But if all goes well (and it WILL), I will share a big surprise with you all next Tuesday. And, no, the stork did not deliver it.
* I should note that SIL is one of the few Web acronyms that I approve of. DS and DH drive me crazy, as do IMHO and YKTR. And if you know what EWCM is - gross, huh?

I will pray that all goes well this week. As far as the acronyms I guess I am way out of it. I did get SIL but that's all. Maybe you could provide me a key code for future information.

as for the acronyms, i don't really understand most... any that i use (including SIL and FIL) are really making fun of the use of acronyms... same with btw and bbiab. unfortunately, aim/blog speak has become part of my regular vocabulary. it's sad. very sad.
that may be the most adorable pic of miss dub ever. i am feeling a hankering for my miss dub cuddles. as for pdaddy, all prayers will be directed his way. nothin' but love.
I have NO idea what any of those are. I am not acronyms savvy. I think I might have to take acronym 101 or something...ok I do know what SIL is...but the others!?!?!

I have used DH a few times in reference to my Dear Husband and I thought it was cute! Then I realized my husbands ex-wife has the same initials DH...now that she has taken her maiden name back!
So it's no more DH for me!
But I still think it's kind of cute!

Yeah, the whole acronym thing gets out of control. I mean, SIL makes a thirteen character word into a three. You can't beat that. And dashes are just so awkward to type. But most of them are dumb. I'll admit to having used DH for a short time, but then I decided it was lame and quit. At least I figured it out, right?
1) Lots of prayers are coming. I'm shutting this computer off in 5 minutes and will commence.
2) SIL = Sister in Law
DS = Dear Son
DH = Dear Husband
IMHO = In My Honest Opinion
YKTR = You Know...???

3) Have pity on me, as I only know this b/c of years of fertility problems and fertility boards and pregnancy boards are LOADED with these acronyms. I myself, don't use these acronyms (or post anywhere on the internet but here), but if you don't look them up, you won't understand what anyone is talking about. Ever.
4) I MUST sign off as I am officially late on my promise to start praying in 5 minutes.
Wow, your dad without an espophagus and mine without a sternum. Together, they will be complete (except, sadly, mine has also lost a significant amount of hair due to medication).
Many prayers, especially because your blog just won't be the same without the clever comments from pdaddy. Relax and enjoy yourself (as much as possible).
I hate those acronyms too. I hope your dad's surgery goes well tomorrow. Hang in there and I hope your guests make the week go by fast!
